DESCRIPTION:Two Day Adirondack Chair Course  (Thursday /Friday) \nThis is a 2 day course (9am to 5pm each day). During the two days\, you make the beautiful Adirondack chair. Using Scandinavian pine you will be building a chair that will last for many years. With step-by-step instructions from a master craftsman\, you will be learning how to use a variety of tools including a handsaw\, hand plane\, jigsaw\, spokeshave\, bevel\, battery screw gun\, wood chisel\, measuring tape and square. \nWorking in a fully equipped workshop\, meeting a few new people as you work through the class together. You may surprise yourself at how much you will enjoy the process and taking home your chair will give you a great sense of achievement. \nAs it’s a two-day course\, you have the perfect chance to see some of Hook Peninsula and its spectacular beaches\, historic sites and visitor attractions. \nThis course was originally scheduled for Sat/Sun 11th/12th Jan\, but we have rescheduled to facilate another booking.

Wood carving is a skill which requires practice and lots of people choose to repeat the day as there are many different carving options. \nThe workshop is cosy\, the atmosphere is relaxed\, and the kettle is always boiled. \nUsing sharp wood chisels and a timber mallet from your own tool cabinet\, you will be working at your own spacious workbench and will learn various techniques while creating a two-dimensional piece in lime wood. \nThe process is enjoyable and the results are always surprising! \nConsider this as part of a weekend or day out to the historic Hook Peninsula. \n
