DESCRIPTION:This is a wonderful introduction to the Workshop environment. \nCarving the Woodspirit is one day course. You will discover that it is a very hands-on experience\, but not just your hands\, your full attention will be engaged. You will be using carving chisels and a timber mallet\, and your energy and imagination will be drawn in as you progress. Your own creativity will have space to develop\, with careful guidance and plenty of encouragement from your tutor Tommy. The project is different for everybody who takes part because each finished piece is unique. \nThis is a great day out\, you will enjoy learning a new skill or improve your carving if you have already tried it before. You will enjoy focusing your mind on the task\, meeting a few new people and you will be surprised at what you can create. \nCourse Cost €100.00

DESCRIPTION:One and Half Day Kitchen Bench Course      \nThis is a new course\, in which you will make an indoor 4ft long Bench to sit on. The bench will incorporate mortice and tennon joints. The tools you will be using include a square\, a marking guage\, a pillar drill\, tennon saw\, coping saw\, a variety of planes\, chisels and morticer. \nYou can relax knowing that you will helped right through the process making your own bench. There will be demonstrations and step by step instruction from Tommy\, who has 10 years experience of running the school under his belt. \nThe course will be the full day Saturday (9.00am to 5.00pm) and half day Sunday (9.00am to 1.00pm)\, finishing at lunchtime.  You will be free then to make the most of your visit to Hook Peninsula and plan something for Sunday afternoon. \nNo experience is necessary. \nCourse Cost €200.00

DESCRIPTION:Two-Day Adirondack Chair Course.    \nThis is a 2-day course (9.00 am to 5.00 pm each day). During the two days\, you make the beautiful Adirondack chair. Using Scandinavian pine you will be building a chair that will last for many years and will be a favourite for all family members. With step-by-step instructions from a master craftsman\, you will be learning how to use a variety of tools including a handsaw\, hand plane\, jigsaw\, spokeshave\, bevel\, battery screw gun\, wood chisel\, measuring tape\, and square. \nYou’ll be working in a fully equipped workshop\, meeting some new people\, as you work through the class together. You will be surprised at how much you will enjoy the process and taking home your chair will give you a great sense of achievement. \nThe class size is restricted to eight people\, to ensure physical distancing. The workshop is spacious and each person will work on their own bench. \nAs it’s a two-day course\, you have the perfect chance to see some of Hook Peninsula and its spectacular beaches\, historic sites\, and visitor attractions.
